Venice through the eyes of Evgeny Lushpin

Evgeny Lushpin is a Russian painter, born in Moscow in 1966. His paintings are famous all over the world and his favourite subjects are landscapes, which are depicted with astonishing realism and perfection. He paints modern cities such as Amsterdam, San Francisco and Venice and does so with extreme precision, while adding something magical that makes them appear surreal, just like imaginary cities.

I chose Lushpin because I think he expresses very well the romantic soul of the city of Venice as elusive and veiled in impalpable melancholy.

Does it not seem so to you?

By elective affinities, the Russian soul captures the untranslatable mystery of Venice and return it to us in forms and colours that speak to our hearts through the magic of silence.

This is one of the finest works of Evgeny Lushpin. Click on the image to enlarge it and see it in all its beauty!
